"I love to paint animals and this lioness, photographed with her two sisters by two of my dearest friends while they were on an African safari, was a perfect subject. I painted the original in watercolor, on a white scratchboard instead of on paper. This surface allowed me to capture the fine detail of the fur. I enjoy working on scratchboard and you can see how I used the same surface for "Honey", with acrylic for "Off Duty" and "Wiley", and in black ink for "Sleeping Ginger".
P.S. My dear friends purchased this original almost before the paint had dried!"
