"After I sold 'Darla By-The-Sea' I felt the need to do another portrait of my English Springer Spaniel, Darla, set on the beach where we walk every morning. In this painting I tried to emphasize the blowing of her long hair in the salty damp air, along with an expression that is distinctively Darla."
