"A visit to the Bahamian island of Exuma inspired this painting, the largest canvas I had painted to date. The beauty and solitude reminded me of the Beach Boys' song of that tropical paradise, Kokomo.

I tried to capture the feel of standing in the dunes by the ocean in the tropics - big puffy wind-blown clouds, chattering sea birds all around, and the humidity in the air as you look into the distance.

There are so many lovely places like this in the Bahamas, where you can be totally alone... so I added a line of solitary foot prints across the foreground."
